Mark Watson
Managing Partner
Mark brings more than thirty years of market data, licensing compliance, and vendor management expertise across financial institutions and global consulting practices. He specializes in helping asset managers, investment banks, hedge funds, and private equity firms optimize market data spend while holding full regulatory compliance.
Prior to founding Paraxis, Mark ran buy-side data operations at The Boston Company and led capital-markets data and advisory programs at IBM, Accenture, and Deloitte — advising banks, asset managers, and exchanges on licensing strategy, operating models, and regulatory technology. His work covers both sides of the table, which is where the durable savings usually live.
Mark leads the firm's strategic direction and senior client advisory work.

Ted Peyton
Partner · Director of Advisory Services
Ted has spent more than 25 years on both sides of the market data desk. He was Global Head of Market Data at CIBC and RBC before moving to the buy side, where he spent five years at T. Rowe Price leading market data procurement and compliance across the firm, negotiating multi-million-dollar vendor contracts and building the governance frameworks that brought the annual data spend down while improving quality and access.
Having sat in the seat our clients occupy, Ted knows where the leverage is before the conversation starts. His work spans real-time, reference, index and benchmark, and alternative data, with particular depth in audit preparation, remediation, and vendor negotiation.

Ian leads Paraxis's European, Middle Eastern, and African operations, bringing deep expertise in international market data regulations and cross-border compliance. With more than thirty-five years in financial services, Ian has advised multinational institutions on market data strategy and regulatory alignment.
Previously, Ian held senior roles at major investment banks in London, where he managed market data operations across multiple jurisdictions. His experience includes navigating MiFID II data requirements, GDPR compliance, and multi-currency licensing structures.
Ian's international perspective helps clients optimize their global market data footprint while holding regional compliance posture intact. He specializes in European data vendor relationships, index-owner licensing across FTSE Russell, MSCI, and STOXX, and cross-border data governance.

Paul Obrocki
Partner · Director of Data Management Advisory
Paul leads Paraxis's Global Data Management Advisory practice, helping financial institutions modernize their data strategies, operating models, governance frameworks, and enterprise data capabilities.
Paul brings more than thirty years of financial services data management, technology, and operating-model experience across global asset managers, investment banks, and financial technology providers. He previously served as Global Director for Financial Services Data Management at Accenture, where he led the firm's global financial-services data management practice and developed solutions spanning enterprise data strategy, reference data, security master, governance, managed services, and major data-platform implementations.
Paul has advised and led transformation programs for institutions including BNY Mellon Asset Management, Capital Group, BCIMC, and TD Bank. His experience includes Aladdin implementations, Bloomberg-to-Refinitiv data transitions, enterprise data strategy, integration architecture, data governance, and the design of information-service organizations responsible for pricing, time series, and securities reference data. He has worked extensively with platforms including Markit EDM, Asset Control, GoldenSource, and Informatica.
Having spent his career at the intersection of business, data operations, and technology, Paul helps clients move from fragmented data environments to sustainable operating models with clear ownership, controls, and implementation roadmaps.
